Muhammad Abul Kalam
Muhammad Abul Kalam, who became a partner in this firm on 1 January 2010. He was educated in Bangladesh and the United Kingdom. He went on to do a Qualified Lawyers Transfer Test at College of Law, London. He worked for J Cooper Solicitors, Farringdons Solicitors, SJ Solicitors. He set-up his own solicitor firm known as AK Solicitors in 2004. His practice covers all aspects of immigration and nationality law, with particular emphasis on Appeal cases in relation to asylum and human rights law.
His first major accomplishment came in 1988 when he completed his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons) course at the University of Dhaka. This led to the completion of the Master of Laws (LL.M.) course the following year in 1989.
He then continued to pursue his legal career by obtaining the Bar Vocational Qualification from the Bangladesh Bar Council. Having completed the academic and vocational stages of his training, in the year 2000, Mr Kalam was awarded with a certificate of eligibility to become a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales. He furthered his carrier and qualified as a Barrister and called to the Bar of England & Wales in 2009. He is member of the Honourable Society of Lincolns Inn.
Muhammad Abul Kalam is the Senior Partner of Kalam Solicitors. The largest law firm in the Bangladeshi Community. He qualified as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court England and Wales in 2001 and since he has been practicing as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England & Wales. Mr Kalam has been part of the very successful solicitor. There he embraces many responsibilities and holds the position of Senior Partner.
Mr Kalam was the former President of the Society of British Bangladeshi Solicitors in UK. He was the founder Secretary General of the Society of British Bangladeshi Solicitors. He was the former President of Bangladesh Law Association in UK. He is the founder of the Liberty Law (British Bangladeshi Joint Venture Law Chambers in Bangladesh). He also involves with the ethnic solicitors such as Black Minority Ethnic Group an Ethnic Community group for all ethnic community lawyers with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and the Law Society of England & Wales. He is a leading Immigration Practitioner. He has been regularly appearing community TV channels on all area of legal update issues such as Channel S, Channel I, Bangla TV. He also involves with various community and social organisation in UK and Bangladesh.
Abdul Aziz
Abdul Aziz is a Partner of Kalam Solicitors. Abdul Aziz, did Law at the University of East London graduating with an LLB Honours Degree and attended law school at the Thames Valley University, Middlesex, graduating from the Legal Practice Course (LPC). He qualified as Solicitor from AK Solicitors in 2009 and is now a partner at Kalam Solicitors. His expertise includes a comprehensive range of Residential and Commercial Conveyancing issues including Landlord & Tenant Law as well as Family Law.
Wasifur Rahman Talukder
Wasifur Rahman Talukder qualified as a Barrister and called to the Bar in 2000. He is an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh since 1987. He obtained LL.B (Hons), LL.M (DU), LL.B (Hons) University of London.
He has been a Sole Immigration Advisor (Level-3). He becomes a Solicitor in April 2006 and practised with AK Solicitors as an Associate until 2010. Since 2010, he has been practising as an Associate Solicitor with Kalam Solicitors and is an expert in Immigration, Human Rights, Asylum, Work Permit, Entrepreneur, Family, landlord & Tenant, Civil Penalty, Preparing: Wills, Deed Polls and Sponsorship/Statutory Declaration. He deals with appeal and application matter (JR) in Upper Tribunal, Administrative Court, Court of Appeal in Immigration and Nationality matters. He represents clients in the FtT and UT (followed by permission from FtT). He is expert in Bangladeshi family laws and speaks fluent Bengali and Hindi.
Abul Monsur Shahjahan
Having completed BSS (Hon’s), MSS from University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, Abul Monsur Shahjahan also did LLB (Hon’s) at University of Wolverhampton. He qualified as a Barrister from Lincoln’s Inn on 1999. He practised as a Case Worker and Advocate with a wide range of experience in the Asylum, Nationality and Immigration fields since 1998. Represented people on asylum matters from different cultures and backgrounds include Turkey, Somalia, Kosovo, Iran, Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, Belarus, Russia, India, Bangladesh, Pakistan etc.
He has working knowledge in the area of Welfare Benefit, Housing, Repair, Landlord & Tenant, Family, Intellectual Property and Residential Conveyancing matters. He also studied Internet Law, International Comparative Commercial Arbitration, Intellectual Property and Admiralty Law. Visited the European Court of Justice with Benchers and Barristers of Lincoln’s Inn and attended as an observer at the hearing of the Court First Instance.
Mohammed Kamrul Hasan
Mohammed Hasan obtained his LL.B (Hons) degree in 2001 from the University of London. He completed his Bar Vocational Course from City University in 2002 and was called to the Bar in 2003 by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He cross qualified as a Solicitor in 2010.
He joined Kalam Silicitors in 2010. His main area of practices are Immigration, Asylum, Nationality law and Family Law. He regularly appears before the First Tier and Upper Tribunal (Immigration and Asylum) and family courts. He has gained notable experience in dealing complex cases in these areas of law.
Md. Abubakar Siddik Hasanath
Md Abubakar Siddik Hasanath completed a degree of Bachelor of Laws (five- year course) from the University of Calcutta, India and LL.B (Honours) Degree from the University of Huddersfield, United Kingdom. Mr Hasanath also did his Master of Laws in International Law and Criminal Justice at the University of East London, United Kingdom.
Having completed his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Calcutta on 29 January 2002 he was admitted and enrolled as an Advocate in the roll of the Bangladesh Bar Council and he commenced practice in Courts under the High Court Division of the Supreme Court in Bangladesh. In January 2005, he join the Farringdons, Solicitors as a Legal Assistant. In May 2008, Mr Hasanath joins Regents Law now trading as Kalam Solicitors. He was one of the founder members of the Regents Law.
Mr Hasanath was admitted to practice as a Solicitor in England and Wales in March 2010. He is experienced in dealing with commercial landlord & tenant transactions & contracts, commercial property acquisitions and disposals & property aspects of commercial/corporate transactions. He is also conducting civil litigation, immigration, family and matrimonial and ancillary relief.
Bodrul Alam Chowdhury
Bodrul Chowdhury completed LLB (Honours) from the University of London. He studied LLM (International Commercial Law) at Northumbria University, Newcastle and has completed Legal Practice Course from University of Westminster.
Bodrul joined Kalam Solicitors in 2010 as a Case Worker and qualified as a Solicitor in 2013. He specialises in Immigration, Family and Conveyancing. He has extensive experience in preparing successful appeals to the Immigration Tribunals and Judicial Review application to the Upper Tribunal. He advises clients ‘on the family law issues’ including divorce, children matters and financial matters.
Bodrul regularly represents clients in the First-tier Tribunal, Upper Tribunal and Family Court. He also has a particular interest in representing immigration detainees.
Mazharul Karim Mustafa
Mazharul qualified as a solicitor in 2015 and ever since has been working in the areas of immigration, asylum and nationality law.
Mazharul holds a Bachelor of Laws, Master of Laws and has completed the Legal Practice Course.
Mazharul has quickly gained experience in the above practice areas through his regular appearances before the First-tier Tribunal and Upper Tribunal.
Muhammad Abul Fozol
Muhammad Abul Fozol have been educated in Bangladesh and completed his Bachelor of Arts at the Sylhet MC College and thereafter completed his first year of LLB at the Sylhet Law College. He has also completed a MM degree from the Sylhet Government Alia Madrasha.
Fozol is a registered Immigration Adviser under Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC).
Fozol has been working as an Immigration Caseworker at Kalam Solicitors since it’s inception in 2010, prior to this Mr Fozol has been working in the immigration field since 2005 at law firms in East London.
Fozol is a specialist in Immigration areas including Entry Clearance Applications, Leave to remain applications and British Nationality applications
Muhammad Imran Hossain
Imran graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2014, with 2:1 Honours Degree in Law. He then went on to London Metropolitan University and completed Legal Practice Course (LPC) in 2017.
Following the completion of graduation, Imran joined Kalam Solicitors as a Paralegal in the Immigration and Family departments. He then secured a part time training contract in October 2016 in the same departments.
At university, Imran worked as the International Students’ Officer of Hertfordshire Students’ Union. He was also Chair of Hertfordshire Lawyers Without Borders Society, Amnesty International and Model United Nation. He led the university in the Milan Model United Nation Conference in May 2014. He was also the vice-president of South Asian Students’ Union.
